Igor Švab Somentor: Davorina Petek IZHODIŠCA: V slovenskem delu raziskave Eurobstacle smo opazili, da predstavljajo slašcice bolnikom s sladkorno boleznijo tipa II vcasih precejšnjo težavo. Pregled literature s tega podrocja kaže, da ni znanih veliko podatkov o odnosu teh bolnikov do slašcic ter o njihovem soocanju z omejitvijo le-teh. NAMEN: Z raziskavo smo poskušali podrobneje analizirati problem slašcic v bolnikovi prehrani, hkrati pa smo ugotavljali, kakšna stališca imajo do tega študenti zadnjega letnika medicine. HIPOTEZI: 1. Pri bolnikih in študentih bomo našli razlicne teme. 2. Nekatere kode bodo skupne METODE: Raziskava je potekala po metodi fokusnih skupin kvalitativne raziskovalne metode. V prvem delu smo analizirali transkripte petih fokusnih skupin, ki so bile izvedene v okviru raziskave Eurobstacle. V drugem delu je bila izvedena študentska fokusna skupina z razpravo na temo odnosa študentov zadnjega letnika medicine do sladkornih bolnikov, njihove diete in slašcic v prehrani teh bolnikov ter njena analiza. Nazadnje smo primerjali obe analizi med sabo. REZULTATI: V vsaki skupini smo našli štiri glavne teme, ki vplivajo na odnos do slašcic - bolniki: 1. odnos bolnik-okolica, 2. bolnikovo doživljanje, 3. mnenja o slašcicah in prekrških in izkušnje z njimi ter 4. edukacija; študenti: 1. stališca do bolezni in diete, 2. vživljanje v bolnika, 3. komunikacija, 4. znanje. Ker smo neodvisno kodirali oba intervjuja, smo dobili razlicne teme. Nato pa smo poiskali tudi posamezne kode, ki so skupne obema skupinama. Teh je bilo enaindvajset. ZAKLJUCEK: Hipotezi smo potrdili - pri obeh skupinah smo našli razlicne teme, kljub temu pa je bilo tudi nekaj skupnih kod. Raziskava nam je omogocila boljši vpogled v problem slašcic v prehrani bolnika s sladkorno boleznijo tipa II. Igor Švab Co-mentor: Davorina Petek BACKGROUND: The Slovenian part of the Eurobstacle study shows that sweets can sometimes cause a lot of difficulties in the diet of patients with type 2 diabetes. In the literature there is not many data about patients' confrontation with their diet and restriction regarding eating sweets. AIM: This study tried to gain detailed understanding of patients' relation to their diet and sweets in it. At the same time we tried to determine students' view on this matter. HYPOTHESES: 1. We will find different themes in patients' and students' focus group interviews. 2. Some codes will be the same. METHODS: We used focus group method of qualitative research. First we analysed transcripts of five focus groups of Eurobstacle study and then we carried out a student focus group discussion about the relation of students in the last semester of medicine to type 2 diabetes patients, their diet and sweets in it. We analysed this one as well and then compared both analyses. RESULTS: In each group we found four themes that influence the relation to sweets in the diet - patients: 1. the relationship between patient and his surroundings, 2. patient's relation to himself, 3. patients' experience and opinion about sweets in the diet, 4. education; students: 1. students' point of view on type 2 diabetes and its diet, 2. students' identifying with patients, 3. communication, 4. knowledge. Because we coded both interviews independently we identified different themes. Then we looked for individual codes that are common to both groups and we found twenty- two of them. CONCLUSIONS: We have confirmed the hypotheses. In both groups there were different themes, but some codes were the same. The study gives us opportunity to get better insight into the problem of sweets in the diet of patients with type 2 diabetes. |
